Pressed Metal - Old material, Modern Use

Here's a few images showing how you can use pressed metal in new ways to great effect. We find that it works best when used sparingly as a feature. It looks best if you can keep the size of each section to be a maximum size of the sheet stock. Joins are ok, but not where the panel will be within reach (say on a ceiling). Otherwise keep the panel size small and the finish simple and tactile. Here we used a white powder coat paint and set the pressed metal into the exposed rail sliding door and as the bathroom splash-back. Offset with Pacific Jarrah timber coated in marine varnish. A strip LED light mounted under the shaving cabinet washes over the pressed metal and emphasises the textured pattern with light and shade.
